COL Laura Renee Trinkle was born in South Carolina but is honored to be an Army brat who calls Kansas home. She graduated from Emporia State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a ROTC- Distinguished Military Graduate commission. She earned a Master of Health Administration from Baylor University in 1998.
COL Trinkle has enjoyed the privilege of serving in both tactical and fixed hospitals beginning with the 2nd MASH at Fort Benning, GA. Since then she has held numerous positions at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, GA; Noble Army Community Hospital, Fort McClellan, AL; Irwin Army Community Hospital, Fort Riley, KS; USA MEDDAC, Wuerzburg, Germany; Tripler Army Medical Center, HI; and Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, WA. She served as the Operations Officer for both the 67th Combat Support Hospital, Wuerzburg , Germany; and Task Force Med Falcon at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo; and then later as the Deputy Commander for Administration, 10th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq. She served as the Executive Officer for Western Regional Medical Command, Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA, and twice as the Deputy Commander for Administration at both Kenner Army Health Clinic, Fort Lee, VA and Irwin Army Community Hospital, Fort Riley, KS. COL Trinkle recently commanded Andrew Rader US Army Health Clinic at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall and is currently the Chief of Staff for Northern Region Medical Command, Ft Belvoir, VA.
COL Trinkle is a Graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the Interagency Institute for Federal Health Care Executives. She is currently enrolled in the Army War College. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (6th oak leaf cluster), Army Commendation Medal (4th oak leaf cluster), Iraq Campaign Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation. She earned the Expert Field Medical Badge, German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (Bronze award), and is a member of the AMEDD’s Order of Military Medical Merit.
