Command Sergeant Major Benjamin Scott has served in a wide variety of leadership roles throughout his more than 27 years in the United States Army, specializing in dentistry. He most recently served as the Command Sergeant Major for the Warrior Transition Command. As the senior enlisted advisor to the WTC Commander, he was charged with advising the WTC Commander on the Army’s Warrior Care and Transition Program and support for wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers.
Other senior leadership assignments included Command Sergeant major for Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, where he worked closely with Soldiers medically evacuated from the combat theater in Iraq and Afghanistan. Immediately prior to arriving at Landstuhl, CSM Scott was the Command Sergeant Major for the U.S. Army Medical Activity at Fort Irwin, California, where he helped start a unit specializing in the care of severely injured Soldiers and Soldiers with traumatic brain injuries.
CSM Scott holds an Associate of Arts degree in Management, a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, and he has begun work on a Masters of Business Administration. In addition, CSM Scott has completed several military schools, including the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course (Commandant’s List), First Sergeant Course, USA Sergeants Major Course, and the Command Sergeants Major Course.
His awards include Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters , Army Commendation Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with seven Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal (8th award), National Defense Service Medal with bronze star, Korean Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 4, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 3, Meritorious Unit Citation with one Oak Leaf Cluster, and one overseas service bar. He earned the Expert Field Medical Badge, German Marksmanship Award (Schuetzenschnur), and is a member of the prestigious Sergeant Morales and Sergeant Audie Murphy Clubs and a recipient of the Order of Military Medical Merit.
